“Luciano Spalletti to Leave Napoli: Coach Announces Desire for Year Off”

Luciano Spalletti already announced his desire to leave Napoli. Spalletti needs a year off.

Spalletti actually just brought Il Partenopei to win the 2022/2023 Italian League, which at the same time ended a 34-year fast of winning the Scudetto title. However, it was Spalletti’s first and last title for Napoli.

Because Spalletti apparently disagreed with Club President Aurelio De Laurentiis regarding the team’s plans for next season. Not to mention that Spalletti also wants to leave Sporting Director Cristiano Guintoli.

However, there are also those who say Spalletti actually asked for a raise in his new contract, but De Laurentiis refused. As a result, Spalletti chose to leave the city of Naples this summer.

Spalletti feels his time at Napoli is over and he needs to rest after such an intense season. This was previously confirmed by De Laurentiis.

“Sometimes there has to be farewells when you love something too much. Napoli deserve the best and I was not ready for that,” said Luciano Spalletti as quoted by Football Italia.

“I told De Laurentiis a few weeks ago, that I want to take a year off. I am pleased with his statement yesterday. Such is the fact.”

The bald-headed coach has coached the club since 2021 by winning 61 of 95 matches. There were a total of 196 goals scored and 89 conceded. Spalletti’s last match was when Napoli met Sampdoria, Sunday (4/6) evening WIB tomorrow.
