Lucía Yáñez requests a hearing from Mariana Gutiérrez in a case of harassment

Mexico City, The Mexican-American Lucía Yáñez, former member of Puebla, requested an audience with Mariana Gutiérrez, president of the Liga Mx Femenil, to expose the case of harassment and defamation that she faced without receiving the support of the team.

“I respectfully requested that my case be heard, analyzed and thus prevent this from happening to other soccer players. I hope with all my heart that having raised my voice does not close my focus on Mexican women’s soccer. My dream since I was a child has been to have a professional career,” said the player when breaking the silence with a message on social networks.

Yánez faced threats on social networks as well as a campaign of defamation and harassment, to the point that they stoned the windows of his house and in the Puebla stadium they threw leaflets with insults against him on date one of the tournament.

“I asked to have access to the stadium security cameras and they said yes, but they never did. Their solution was to give me two days off to clear my head,” the defender revealed.

According to the season In Deportes and the Puebla newspaper Grada, who revealed the case on Wednesday, the player reported this situation to the club’s sports director Daniel Cessa and coach Guillermo Cosío, who was dismissed a few days ago. However, she was not supported and was asked not to make the case public.

Lucía now detailed in a statement that the Puebla team only helped her temporarily block the profiles of the people who were bothering her, but the attacks continued.

However, upon reiterating the seriousness of her situation, they stopped calling her for matches and the club limited themselves to making a proposal to release her, which is why, not receiving sufficient support, she decided to return to her family in the United States.
