CANCÚN, Q. ROO.- Matchday 12 of the MX League left Monterrey and América as winners of the Clásico Regio and Nacional, respectively. The Rayados beat Tigres by a minimum and remain the undisputed leaders of the tournament, while the ‘águilas’ beat Chivas 4-2, to climb to second place in the general table, before the break for the FIFA Date.

Monterrey kept all three points and broke the streak of games without a win at the Estadio Universitario, thanks to a long-range goal by Luis Romo. With this result, the team led by Víctor Manuel Vucetich reached 31 points, 11 games without losing, of which 10 were victories.

After the FIFA Date, the Rayados will receive Tijuana, where they could secure first place for the Liguilla, if they win. Despite not scoring, Rogelio Funes Mori remained in the Top 3 scorers, with nine goals.

While América thrashed Chivas 4-2, with a brace from Jonathan Rodríguez, accompanied by goals from Leo Suárez and Henry Martín, the Yucatecan is the scoring leader with 11 goals. The Azulcremas ‘flew’ to second place in the Clausura 2023, with 23 points and are undefeated as visitors in this tournament, with three games tied and three won.

On Matchday 13, the ‘eagles’ will host León at the Azteca Stadium.
