Lucerne does not have to have the IT debacle dealt with externally by centralplus

After the school software Educase had not worked properly for a long time, the project was finally canceled this winter. The damage to the canton and municipalities is great. The supervisory and control commission (AKK) of the cantonal council announced an investigation weeks ago (zentralplus reported).

Several advances in the cantonal council called for an investigation into the problems in the IT area. While the SP and GLP prefer an independent audit, the FDP, Mitte and SVP want to go less far with an internal accountability report. After all, the Educase debacle is also being investigated internally, which the government wanted to exclude from the analysis. Educase is now being examined together with the three other IT projects relating to the administration solution for the cantonal schools Edustar, the tax software and the service portal for the canton and municipalities.

Anja Meier’s (SP) postulate, which required an external review, had no chance. This was sunk by the council by a vote of 27 to 69.
