Before the Asturians will come the first of the 34 key appointments of the campaign, in a league that recovers its traditional format, with a unique group of 18 teams. The regular phase will last until the weekend of May 20. It will be then when, also in Alicante, the Lucentinos play against Bàsquet Girona, a club owned by Marc Gasol.
Among the appointments marked in red on the calendar, the duel of the first round against the Girona will serve to determine which teams play the Cup and will be the weekend of January 21. The first two at that time will play the title. The morbid duels against Palencia by Pedro Rivero will be experienced on matchdays 16 and 33, that is, the penultimate of the calendar. The former Lucentino coach will return to Pedro Ferrándiz on the weekend of January 14. Finally, the confrontations against the historic Estudiantes, who descended this year to LEB Gold, will be on days 4 (October 22) and 21 (February 18).
Very expensive play-offs
The first classified at the end of the regular season will get the first place of promotion to ACB at stake. The second will be settled in some very tough “play-offs” that will be played by eight teams (from second to ninth) and that will begin on May 26 with the quarter-final tie and will end on June 18 and 19, with a novel “Final Four” from which the other promoted one will emerge.
