Now the giant talent has been presented by Tottenham Hotspurs.
Lucas Bergvall has undeniably been this winter’s hottest name.
There has been speculation about DIF’s giant talent for months and as recently as yesterday, Bosse Andersson said that it would take some time before an announcement would come – but that was not the case.
Today, in connection with Bergvall turning 18, he has been presented by Premier League club Tottenham Hotspurs.
The midfielder joins Tottenham on July 1 and he is said to cost SEK 113 million excluding bonuses.
This is the Allsvenskan’s most expensive transfer of all time (according to FD’s information) in terms of basic sum. Second is Alexander Isak at 90 million kroner (from AIK to Dortmund), Hugo Larsson, who was stated to cost 132 million kroner, was sold for only 85 million kroner in pure transfer money when he went from Malmö FF to Eintracht Frankfurt last summer.
During yesterday FotbollDirekt.se was able to reveal that national team star Dejan Kulusevski was present when Bergvall met Tottenham and with hindsight it is easy to assume that he influenced the giant talent’s choice.
Bergvall thus chooses to go to Tottenham and thus knocks FC Barcelona, who he was rumored to be so incredibly diligent during the winter.
