Luca Trinkberger and Oleg Tschwanow stay at EHC Freiburg

Lesedauer: ca. 1 Minute

Luca Trinkberger and Oleg Tschwanow will also play for EHC Freiburg in the DEL2 in the 2021/22 season.

As a native of Landshut, 23-year-old Luca Trinkberger learned to play ice hockey on the Isar and went through all the junior stations in Lower Bavaria. With the EVL he was then able to celebrate promotion to the top division in 2018/19 and get a taste of the second division for the first time in the following year. Shortly after the start of the 2020/21 season, the left-handed shooter came to Breisgau via ESC Dorfen and was able to record seven scorer points and, above all, a tireless effort. With the wolves he will now also be on the hunt for points in the coming DEL2 season.

Luca Trinkberger on his stay in Breisgau: “I am more than grateful to those responsible for the club that they have placed their trust in me in the new season. I feel very much at home with the Wolves, but also in the city of Freiburg, and I hope that I can take another step forward in the new season. I would like to continue to help the team with my full commitment. Unfortunately, I haven’t played in front of a home crowd yet. If everything goes well, it shouldn’t be long before we have a full cauldron in the Echte Helden Arena again. I am very excited about it.”

Also in the squad of the EHC Freiburg for the coming season is Oleg Tschwanow. In December of last year, Tschwanow came to the Wolves from the young eagles Mannheim with a license to take his first steps in the senior sector. Only a little later, the 18-year-old was firmly integrated into the squad with a sponsorship agreement. The young attacker will continue this sponsorship contract into the DEL2 season 2021/22 and thus wear the jersey of the EHC Freiburg.

Robert Hoffmann, Wolfe’s head coach: “With Luca, the focus is first of all on getting completely healthy and fit. That is the top priority. We believe and hope, of course, that he will then be able to fully attack again to fight for his place on the team. At 18, Oleg is still very young and has just successfully taken his first steps in the senior sector. He has to train hard and work on himself. But we completely trust him and would like to give him the confidence he needs. I am definitely convinced that both will find their role and bring us even further forward as a team. ”
