Luca Moneta and Jess Garmendia Triumph in CSI 3* Competitions
Coruna, Spain – In the final stage of the Global Champions League, the team Paris Panthers emerged victorious, securing the gold medal after successfully completing both rounds without any faults.
The first competition, held at a height of 1.55 meters, was dominated by the reigning world champion, Swedish rider Henrik Von Eckermann. He was the only one among the 21 participants to complete the round with zero points and finished in less than 60 seconds.
The second competition, also known as the CaixaBank Trophy, featured heights of 1.60 meters and saw 18 riders complete the course without any penalties. Irish rider Bertram Allen, riding Pacino Amiro, claimed the top spot with a time of 64.20 seconds. His compatriot Billy Twomey finished in second place with the stallion Chat Botte ED, while Von Eckermann secured third place with his horse King Edward. With these results, Riesenbeck International maintains the lead in the overall standings with 234 points, followed by Paris Panthers with 204 points, and Madrid in Motion in third place with 188 points.
The CSI 3* program began with the Inaugural Trophy, held at a height of 1.35 meters, where Jess Garmendia emerged as the winner. The second competition of the day and the CSI 3* was the NH Collection Trophy, a ranking event for the Longines FEI, held at a height of 1.45 meters. This competition marked the first foreign victory in the competition, with Italian rider Luca Moneta taking the top spot.
The second day of the competition will start with the Cervezas 1906 Trophy at 10:30 am, followed by the Porsche Trophy at 12:00 pm, and the Marques de Riscal Trophy at 2:50 pm. The day will conclude with the most important event of the competition, the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix Casas Novas, starting at 5:30 pm.
