Luca Martin, the son of renowned argentinian actress Nancy Duplaa and radio and television personality Matias Martin, is making a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Known for his direct and honest approach, Martin recently opened up about his career, his parents’ influence, and his upcoming role in the controversial play, “Sex,” by José María Muscari.
In a recent interview, Martin shared his parents’ enthusiastic support for his new venture. “My parents, both my mother and my father, were very supportive of the work, very happy and excited as I was accepting a new challenge,” he revealed. He went on to describe the unique nature of the play, explaining, “What they both suggested, and it’s absolutely true, is that ‘sex’ is something that my old man never did, that my old woman never did, not just because they didn’t literally, but because it is something like immersive theater, something different, something very special, something special. Both of them received the news of my incorporation with great joy.”
Martin also discussed his early career, revealing a collaborative, rather than competitive, relationship with his father. “I didn’t have to ask my ex for a job. What I had to do was basically ask him ‘Hey, I have an idea for a column, are you interested in this?’. And he was interested in it, he was interested in the head of the radio at that time, the production of the program at that time and the team of the program at that time. That’s when my way was born as a worker in this world, talking about movies with my old man. I never had to ask him for anything directly, it was always more a matter of suggestions from my father,” he explained.
reflecting on his experiences working with his father, Martin shared both positive and negative aspects. “The best thing was being able to work with my dad on something so special. Also being able to do a game show in Argentina… hosted a television show… something as fun as I am again, it’s a game show there. Maybe the worst thing was that it was a game show and as kids it sometimes made you a little uncomfortable watching people lose and get bad, yes that’s a little difficult at times. ‘It was a little low’,” he admitted.
The interview also delved into the influence of his mother, Nancy Duplaa, on his personality. “I inherited a bit of melancholy and also my emotional honesty. with my mother there was never room to deny your feelings and you could always talk about everything. my mother also has that semi-classical melancholy of little depressions, like me,and I feel it comes a little more from there, which is good as she always giving me the impression that I am in tune with my feelings. ‘I’ve never been one to internalize feelings’,” Martin shared.
He concluded by acknowledging his father’s impact on his dialog style. “From my father I think I got a little passion, a little work, to want to be, to want to mean, not to mention charisma, I thinking he doesn’t even have half the charisma my old man has… I know it, I know it perfectly, but I think from it I got a bit of my charisma, my ability to communicate,” he stated.
