The first polonaises quickly spread through the hall, as soon as Luc Steeno started singing: “After a career of almost 35 years, you no longer have to tell Steeno how to get the audience to sing and dance,” says VRT journalist Tijs Neirynck, who was there.
“Here you really have to sing your successes that people can sing along with and know by heart from start to finish,” says Steeno after his performance. “At the Schlagerfestival you will find people who want to forget all worries and go wild.”
