Lubomir Karimanski will not withdraw his candidacy for BNB chief, although three of the four parties in the coalition are pushing for a new procedure and a unified candidacy, BNT reported.
Karimanski is determined to run for BNB governor on his own after “We Continue Change” candidate Andrei Gyurov withdrew his candidacy.
“I do not think I will retire. First I want to congratulate Mr. Gyurov on his state position. We are absolutely in agreement with him that corrupt capital in the banking and financial system must be eliminated. This is also in my concept. I am counting on close cooperation with the services, I am counting on close cooperation with the ECB.
Prime Minister Kiril Petkov again called for dialogue, a unified nomination and support from all.
“We believe that when there is a conflict over nominations, it is much better to withdraw this nomination, sit down to speak and choose a nomination where the whole coalition stands behind it. At the moment, Mr. Karimanski, as you all know, has the support of one of the four. I don’t think this is the right way to make decisions about such important positions, “Petkov said.
Democratic Bulgaria is convinced that when three of the four formations in a coalition do not agree with something, it must be heard.
“Everyone has the right to personal ambition, but because of a personal ambition or a personal desire, we put the country’s government at stake, to cause a serious shock to the ruling majority in such a crisis – I can’t explain it.” said Hristo Ivanov.
The coalition was not formed for the election of a BNB governor, said Lubomir Karimanski.
“I also expect all those who respect this whole procedure to think about the BNB institution in a non-partisan way. I do not think that the coalition and coalitions in general are created for one post,” he commented.
