LTV confirms 130 applications received by Supernova 2022

After a year’s leave, LatviaNational final Supernova He is back and wants to be as famous as ever. The broadcaster LTV confirmed Supernova 2022 received 130 applications – the largest number ever received.

Record – 130 – surpasses the previous record – 126 applications received at the end of 2019 for the 2020 Supernova.

The upcoming National Final in 2022 promises to be musically diverse. Agnes Strause-Kubliņa, the director of LTV Children’s, Youth and Entertainment programs, said that “in terms of genre, this is definitely the richest year in the supernova. Songs from pop, popular music, electronic music and even heavy rock were submitted to the competition. ”

It was also revealed that among the applicants were artists who had previously represented Latvia at Eurovision. Twenty-one works that previously fluttered the Latvian flag in Eurovision.

The supernova is suspended until 2021, when Samanta Tina is named the 2020 winner in Rotterdam. Recording for the 2022 edition began in October, and the radio announced that new artists were being sought, as well as works with experience.

Supernova 2022 atlases process

The songs will be judged by a specialized jury selected by LTV. The jury will evaluate the songs taking into account the structure of the song, the international entry potential, the artist’s personality and the artist’s past experience and future potential.

The jury will open its list of works sometime in January, when the songs will be released. In recent years, selected works have performed their songs in the live listening phase to assess their suitability.

Supernova 2022 will take place in February 2022. At the moment, LTV has not confirmed any details about the show’s 2022 edition. The 2020 version of Supernova used one grand final with nine competing entries.
