LTV: About 100 migrants from the Polish-Belarusian border are being directed to Latvia

“We received news from the refugees who were pushed back to Belarus from the Polish border in Kuznets that they were being sent to Latvia. This is the news we received today by phone from the migrants being taken there. Some are in the hall, but some and they are mostly men who are escorted by a convoy, ” LTV said Joanna Stančuka, the organizer of the “Mother on the Border” campaign.

The Latvian Border Guard reports that no increased activity has been observed on the part of Belarus so far.

On Saturday, human rights activists in Poland demanded that the authorities provide immediate assistance to migrants, especially women and children. They want the corridor to be opened, at least for medical help.

According to NGOs, Poland has forced a Syrian family whose one-year-old child died to return to Belarus. It is reported that there are several more children who have died in the border area and are buried in the woods.

It has already been reported in the media that a one-year-old child from Syria has died in Poland, near the border with Belarus. The family was assisted by the non-governmental organization PCPM, which has medics because both parents have been injured. According to doctors, the family has been in the forest for about a month. The cause of death of the deceased child is not revealed.

At least 13 migrants have died on the Polish-Belarusian border, according to The Guardian.

It has already been announced that the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Moraveckis will pay a working visit to Riga on Sunday, November 21, to meet with the Prime Minister of Latvia Krišjānis Kariņš (JV), and visit the other two Baltic states on the same day plans to travel to several more European countries.

During the meeting in Riga, it is planned to discuss the current situation on the European Union’s external border with Belarus and regional security issues.
