LSI Denny JA Survey Reveals Support for Education and Economic Segments in September 2023 Elections

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Denny JA’s Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) released the distribution of support for the education and economic segments in September 2023, for the three presidential candidates, namely Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto.

LSI Denny JA researcher, Adjie Alfaraby said, from the economic segment with income under IDR 2 million per month, Prabowo Subianto competes closely with Ganjar Pranowo.

“Prabowo’s electability in this segment is 39.5 percent, Ganjar’s electability is 38.5 percent, Anies’ electability is 11.9 percent,” said Adjie in a press conference at the LSI Denny JA Office in Rawamangun, East Jakarta, Monday (2/10 /2023).

Meanwhile, for people with an income of IDR 2-4 million per month, Prabowo is quite far ahead. In detail, Prabowo 40 percent, Ganjar 35.9 percent, Anies 16.5 percent.

Then, for income of IDR 4 million and above per month, Ganjar gets 40.8 percent, Prabowo 38.9 percent and Anies 19.4 percent.

Meanwhile, in terms of education, people with elementary school (SD) education and below most often choose Prabowo.

“Prabowo’s support in this segment is 41.5 percent, Ganjar’s support is 35.9 percent, Anies’ support is 13.6 percent,” said Adjie.

Then, 45.5 percent of junior high school (SMP) graduates chose Ganjar. Then, 37.0 percent chose Prabowo and 11.5 percent chose Anies.

However, among high school (SMA) graduates, Prabowo is ahead with an electability of 41.6 percent. Followed by Ganjar 37.3 percent and Anies 15.2 percent.

“People with a D3 degree and above mostly choose Prabowo. Prabowo’s support in this segment is 32.7 percent, support for Ganjar is 29.2 percent, support for Anies is 23.6 percent,” said Adjie.

The survey conducted by LSI Denny JA used a multi-stage random sampling method with a total of 1,200 respondents.

Adjie said that the data collection technique did not use social media but rather face-to-face and used a questionnaire method.

“The margin of error for this survey is approximately 2.9 percent,” he said.

Meanwhile, the sampling collection time will be 4-12 September 2023.
