Collision between two trains LRT in Malaysia this was the first incident in 23 years of LRT operation. The Malaysian government is currently investigating the incident.
Reporting from Channel News Asia, Monday (24/5/2021), the Minister of Transportation Malaysia, Wee Ka Siong, said that he would form a task force (task force) and a panel to investigate the cause of the accident. He confirmed that this incident was the first incident since the LRT operated.
“Tomorrow, the director general of the Land Public Transport Agency, will give me an initial report,” he said.
“And in two weeks, this Task Force will submit a report on the results of the investigation to me. In two weeks we will be able to identify (whether the accident) was caused by a system error, signaling or communication, or human error,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, via his Twitter account, wrote that the accident was serious. He instructed the Ministry of Transport and railroad company Prasarana Malaysia for a “full investigation to identify the cause of the accident.”
In addition, he said, “firm action will be taken immediately.”

Muhyiddin said priority should be given to injured passengers. Related parties have been instructed to ensure that those injured will receive “full treatment.”
It is known, the LRT collision in Malaysia that occurred tonight resulted in as many as 213 passengers injured. A total of 47 people were seriously injured.
Reporting from the Malaysian news agency Bernama, it was said that two LRT trains collided in the tunnel on the Kelana Jaya LRT line.
The accident was reported to have occurred at 8:45 p.m. local time. The exact location of the incident was in the tunnel between Kampung Baru Station and KLCC.
