LPGA star Charley Hull is warning fans about scammers impersonating her online. The 28-year-old English golfer took to Instagram to address the issue,revealing that fake social media accounts are requesting money from fans in exchange for meet-and-greets or fan club memberships.
“I mentioned this a few weeks ago but after an incident at a tournament recently, I feel the need to speak out again,” Hull wrote on Wednesday. “I will never ask for money or gift cards in exchange for meet and greets or fan club membership. These clubs are fake and run by scammers.my team and I only use my official social media accounts, @charley.hull (Instagram) @hullcharley (X) at ALL times, there are no exceptions. I am not on TikTok.”
Hull, who boasts a large following on social media with 703,000 followers on Instagram and over 91,000 on X, urged fans to report any suspicious accounts. “There are SO many fake accounts out there claiming to be me,if you are contacted them please please report. Let’s stick together so we can beat the scammers,” she added.
This isn’t the first time Hull has made headlines off the course. In May, she whent viral for channeling PGA Tour legend John Daly by smoking a cigarette while signing autographs at the U.S. Women’s Open. She also revealed that a fan had attempted to ask her out during the tournament.
Last month, Hull secured her first victory in two years at the Aramco Team Series on the Ladies European Tour. Currently ranked No. 11 in the LPGA world rankings,Hull has two wins on the Tour and openly discussed her ADHD diagnosis last year.
