Loyola University of Maryland returns to face-to-face classes

Washington Hispanic:

Loyola University officials announced plans Wednesday to return to a full in-person format for the upcoming fall semester, including a full range of classes, athletics and other in-person events and experiences.

The university said on its website that it will have secondary plans in the event that additional measures are needed to continue halting the spread of COVID-19, such as allowing additional space in classrooms.

Plans for the fall will include accommodations for students whose health or immigration status will prevent their return to campus for in-person education.

Testing will continue and isolation space will be available for students who are not fully vaccinated and test positive, the school said. Loyola is encouraging members of the school community to get one of the available COVID-19 vaccines when it becomes available to them.

Loyola offered online instruction during the fall 2020 semester, but students returned for hybrid instruction this semester, as well as an opportunity for undergraduates to live on campus.
