Floods, storms and heavy rain – in Main Franconian districts, storm damage has been comparatively low across Bavaria over the last 20 years. The General Association of the German Insurance Industry announced this on Tuesday.
The Main-Spessart district comes off least well. Over the last 20 years, storm damage there has averaged less than 1,100 euros per building. According to GDV, the national average is 2,900 euros per building over 20 years.
The highest storm damage in recent years was in Mainfranken in the Kitzingen district. The damage here was almost €2,200 per building over the last 20 years.
In the Würzburg urban district, storm damage was around €1,300 per building, and in the Würzburg district it was €1,450.
Most of the damage was caused by storms and hail. Floods and heavy rain caused the remaining damage.
Passau is the Bavarian leader
By the way: Passau has been hit hardest by storms in Bavaria in the past two decades. Floods, storms and heavy rain caused an average of 11,000 euros worth of damage to buildings there from 2002 to 2021.
