Lowest Lampung Covid-19 Vaccination in All of Indonesia

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

province Lampung be a region with a level Covid-19 vaccination the first and second lowest doses in Indonesia.

Referring to the data reported by the government on the site vaksin.kemkes.go.id, as of September 1 at 18.00 WIB, the first dose of Covid-19 vaccination in Lampung has only reached 13.12 percent or 871,850 people.

Meanwhile, the second dose of Covid-19 vaccination in Lampung has only reached 7.99 percent or 531,085 people.

This number is so disproportionate when compared to the number of the first dose of vaccination in DKI Jakarta which has reached 118.82 percent or 9,975,344 people and 71.44 percent of the second dose of vaccination or 5,997,485 people.

Not only DKI Jakarta, the percentage of vaccination in Lampung is also unequal with other provinces in Sumatra.

The rate of the first dose of vaccination in the Riau Islands, for example, has reached 77.54 percent or 1,225,896 residents.

Meanwhile, the second dose of vaccination has reached 33.18 percent or 524,554 residents.

Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin acknowledged that Lampung was included in the area with the lowest vaccination rate in all of Indonesia.

This was conveyed by Budi in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) of the Ministry of Health with Commission IX of the DPR RI last week.

“There are some areas that are a bit lagging behind, the lowest being Lampung, North Maluku, West Sumatra, West Kalimantan and Papua,” Budi said in a meeting with Commission IX of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta on Wednesday. (25/8).

In the previous month, the Regional Secretary of Lampung Province, Fahrizal Darminto, said that vaccination in his area had stalled. According to Fahrizal, this problem occurred because the vaccine stock shortage in Lampung reached more than 12 million doses.

Fahrizal said that to achieve the vaccination target, Lampung Province needed 6.6 million doses of vaccine. However, the supply from the central government is still small.

“This is a calculation from the health department (Dinkes) from a total of 6.6 million, we have only received vaccines from the Ministry of Health, only 956 thousand and a few days ago there were several thousand as well. So it hasn’t reached 1.5 million roughly,” said Fahrizal in an online discussion, Tuesday (13/7).
