Nutritionist Ghent Mays said that there are 3 drinks that can lower levels of bad cholesterol in the blood, and they include the following:

1- Green tea.

2- Yerba mate herb.

3- Hibiscus.

The nutritionist added: “Green tea and yerba mate have been shown to lower bad cholesterol and lipoprotein, which improves blood lipids.”

And she continued, that hibiscus not only reduces harmful cholesterol in the blood, but also raises good cholesterol levels.

And she advised, to drink green tea or yerba mate herb in the morning, because both are rich in caffeine, and thus prevent the desire to sleep and lack of energy.

Although large amounts can harm the health of the body, small amounts of good cholesterol are still needed.

Previous studies have shown that green tea can improve risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome, which is the medical term for a combination of diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity.

It was found that those who drank green tea daily had lower triglycerides, low-density lipoprotein, and total cholesterol after just one month.

Research has shown that drinking hibiscus on a regular basis can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
