Wanted: flower pots and power poles from the 50s and 60s

Rosengarten-Ehestorf (dpa / lni) – The open-air museum on the Kiekeberg is looking for typical street furniture from the post-war period in the Federal Republic as part of the “Königsberger Straße” project. Equipping streets with lamps, flower pots and benches was also common in villages by the 1960s at the latest. “We want to build our street as authentically as possible. To do this, we are looking for historical objects that used to be in the villages and small towns. Our project is unique in Germany – and so is our property search.”
The “Königsberger Straße” also needs power poles, street lamps or a concrete advertising pillar. Such elements were usually not produced in a typical regional way, so they could come from the entire area of former West Germany. Along the “Königsberger Straße” the museum is gradually building five buildings from the post-war period, a 1950s gas station and a semi-detached house are already open to visitors.
