Great demand for catering aid money

Hanover (dpa / lni) – A large part of the recently launched catering aid funds in Lower Saxony have already been committed. Of the 55 million euros, it is 38.5 million euros, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced in Hanover on Monday when asked by the dpa. According to the ministry, the application period began last week on Friday.

Lower Saxony restaurateurs can apply for support for investments of up to 80,000 euros. The restaurant funding program that had already been launched in the past was reactivated with this sum.

More than 94 million euros were paid out through this program last year. At that time, according to a ministry spokeswoman, it was an average of around 65,000 euros per application. The state now takes on a maximum of 80,000 euros per application. 80 percent of the applications would be supported financially. In the case of the projects, it must therefore be recognizable that it improves the equipment of the company and that it does not just compensate for losses.

Applications can be submitted to the NBank via a portal. The approvals should be given at the beginning of next year. According to the ministry, anyone who has already received money from the previous funding program is not eligible to apply again.
