Eintracht Braunschweig wins catch-up game in Würzburg

Würzburg (dpa / lni) – Eintracht Braunschweig has re-established the connection to the promotion places in the 3rd soccer league. The Lower Saxony won the catch-up game at the Würzburger Kickers with 2-0 (2-0) on Tuesday evening and improved to fourth place in the table, past VfL Osnabrück. Three days after the defeat in the top game at 1. FC Magdeburg, Sebastian Müller (8th) and Lion Lauberbach (15th) met early for Eintracht in front of 1305 spectators. The Braunschweiger could have extended this lead several times in the first half.

Up to a dismissal for Würzburg’s David Kopacz (61st / yellow-red), the guests got into trouble again, after which they controlled the game again at will. It was a successful return to Würzburg for Braunschweig’s trainer Michael Schiele. The 43-year-old had led Kickers to promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in 2020. With Eintracht he will now face second place SV Meppen in the top game on Saturday.
