Bahn expands long-distance traffic to the North Sea coast

Hanover (dpa / lni) – Deutsche Bahn is expanding its range of long-distance trains to the North Sea coast with a timetable change on Sunday. One of the new features is an Intercity, which will run daily from Cologne to Bremerhaven, as the company announced. Norddeich Mole will also have a free intercity connection to Frankfurt / Main. The East Frisian coast will be opened up for new regions, the railway announced.
From Bremen and Osnabrück, more and faster ICE direct connections to Frankfurt Airport and Stuttgart are to be used in the future. On the route from Hamburg via Hanover and Göttingen to Bavaria, additional ICEs are to be added to the offer during the week. Göttingen is also receiving a new direct connection from Vienna via Passau.
In addition, the trains used in the north-west will gradually become more comfortable and modern, promises the Deutsche Bahn. In some cases, new ICE trains with more than 900 seats would be used.
