1206 new corona infections reported in Lower Saxony

Hanover (dpa / lni) – The state health office reported 1206 new corona infections for Lower Saxony on Saturday. That is less than the same day a week ago (1573). The number of reported corona infections is regularly lower on weekends and public holidays than on normal working days. The reason for this are delayed reports from the authorities.
The nationwide incidence was given as 109.1; before the one week period it was 114. The incidence indicates how many infections there were per 100,000 inhabitants within a week. Four people died within one day with or from Covid-19 – the number of corona deaths in Lower Saxony rose to 4900.
The city of Salzgitter (246.4) and the district of Cloppenburg (214.4) recorded the highest regional values. The districts of Gifhorn, Leer, Oldenburg, Peine and Vechta and the city of Delmenhorst were also over 150.
