Special groups among energy users and lower electricity prices

Energy prices are one of the topics that have been raising public opinion for several months. And although the rates have been known for some time, many people still think about the terrible accounts, which seem to be mentioned from time to time in news reports. And although most of them electricity consumers we still have to wait to find out what the truth is, but there are still some among electricity users special groupswhich must remember to complete the relevant formalities to be able to use it after July 1, 2024 lower prices. This particularly applies to micro-enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, local governments, and public utility institutions (eg hospitals, schools, nurseries and kindergartens). From July 2024, the energy price for them will remain at PLN 693/MWh net. However, to use it, it is necessary to send a special confirmation to the energy supplier. Its template was recently published in the regulation of the Minister of Climate and Environment on August 7, 2024 on the template of the declaration of the recipient.

The statement should state:

• electrical consumption areas,
• information regarding the part of electricity covered by the highest price,
• the amount of electricity consumption expressed in kWh,
• identification data of the authorized recipient, including his contact information, as well as information about the person authorized to represent the recipient.

Energy voucher for the poorest families

How about houses? From 1 July 2024, the electricity rate (active) will be frozen for them at PLN 500/MWh (the previous rate was PLN 412/MWh). The bills will also include full distribution fees according to the rates approved by the President of the Office of Energy Management for 2024. Electricity consumption limits will also cease to apply. In addition, about 4 million poorest families will benefit from an energy voucher. An application for it must be submitted to the association between August 1 and September 30.

The energy voucher is a one-time benefit in the amount of:

• PLN 300 for a single person household,
• PLN 400 for a household of 2 to 3 people,
• PLN 500 for a household of 4 to 5 people,
• PLN 600 for a household with at least 6 people.

Families heated with electricity will receive a voucher twice as high (from PLN 600 to PLN 1,200).
