On Monday, the Christian Union announced the list of candidates for the House of Representatives elections. One of the most striking things is the low ranking given to Van der Graaf. With more than four years of experience as a Member of Parliament, the Groningen is the one with the most experience within the Christian Union faction. With ninth place on the list, it is highly unlikely that Van der Graaf will return to The Hague. A hard blow for the Groningen, who says he has ‘made himself available with conviction to ask voters for confidence on behalf of the Christian Union’.
Van der Graaf does say that for the time being he will ‘continue to put his shoulders to the wheel for the Christian Union’. “This is a time when it is uncertain who people will put their trust in.”
