The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has announced that a low pressure area (LPA) approaching Mindanao has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Named “Amang” if it develops into a tropical depression, the LPA is affecting Eastern Visayas and Southern Luzon, mainly bringing overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Weather forecaster Obet Badrina states that even if the disturbance does not intensify, Pagasa will continue to monitor its movement. Along with localized thunderstorms, the LPA may also affect Metro Manila and the rest of the country, causing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
