City of Bern | 15. November 2023
Five days before the next voting Sunday, the postal vote turnout in the city of Bern was 11.1 percent. Compared to the three previous voting Sundays, this value is clearly lower, as a graphic published by the city of Bern on Tuesday on X (formerly Twitter) shows.

In the past municipal votes in November 2022 and in March and June 2023, postal voting on the same deadline was just under or even well above 20 percent, as can be seen from the graphic. When it comes to the final voter turnout, the differences are clearer.
Last June, 52.8 percent of Bernese residents took part in the vote. At that time, voters also decided on cantonal parental leave. In March it was most recently 36.4 percent, when decisions were also made on cantonal templates.
In November 2022, however, only municipal issues were presented to the electorate, as was the case next Sunday. The voter turnout on voting Sunday was 32.9 percent.
A mail possible until Thursday
So far, 9,367 people have voted by post. To ensure that the voting envelope arrives on time, according to the city of Bern, voting can still be done by A-Post until Thursday. Otherwise, all that remains is to go to the ballot box.
On Sunday, the voters of the city of Bern will decide on the 2024 budget, the purchase of land to create a playground on Untermattweg and a loan for flood protection.
