Low Levels of Respiratory Diseases in Coahuila, but Concerns about Vaccine Effectiveness

Qualified as very stable by Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme, the situation of respiratory diseases associated with covid in Coahuila, maintaining very low levels, with only 5 people hospitalized in the entity, all of them located in the Laguna region.

Within the framework of the weekly meeting of the regional Health subcommittee, the president explained that 3,500 doses against covid have been applied in the cross-border program, which he described as a success.

Unfortunately, this is a program that benefits residents of the north of the state, while in Torreón, today the Secretary of Health, Roberto Bernal, stated that the Abdala vaccine, which is the one supplied by the Federal Government, does not have the required effectiveness given the variants or strains of the virus and there are no others available in the region:

“So what is recommended right now is for the latest variables of the Omicron virus. There are 3, one from Pfizer, Moderna and another from Novogax are the most suitable.”
