Tijuana.- Since the beginning of booster vaccination with the Abdala vaccine, from December 19, 2022 to today, only 25,965 doses of the Cuban organic have been applied in Baja California, according to statements by José Adrián Medina Amarillas, head of the State Health Secretariat.
The official reiterated that this biologic is applied only to the elderly and patients with immunological vulnerability, as well as people who have not received any dose against Covid-19.

“The only vaccine available is the Abdala vaccine, it is applied throughout the country, it has been certified by Cofepris, it has been shown to be over 92% safe. We had an excellent reception, there was no rejection,” added Medina Amarillas.
Despite the declarations of the Secretary of Health, 9,287 doses of this vaccine were applied in the municipality of Tijuana, in Mexicali 8,395, in Ensenada 5,734, in San Quintín 1,723, in Rosarito 423, in Tecate 348 and in San Felipe 55.
In the vaccination of minors aged 5 to 11, only 25.09% of this age group applied the second dose, since of the 257,408 doses applied, only 64,587 were second doses.
