Low diploma, high salary: these jobs make it possible | MyGuide

JobatNo, you do not necessarily have to have a higher education diploma to earn a good living. For certain positions that don’t require a bachelor’s or college degree, you’ll still get paid more than decently. A diploma is then less important than rare talent, experience or a certain amount of fearlessness. Jobat.be highlights the opportunities.

Talent takes precedence

Combining the knowledge, skills and professional attitude for a job is, for certain positions, of greater value than a higher education diploma. One such typical role is HR manager. In order to earn more than 5,000 euros gross per month, you do not need to continue studying after your secondary education. Having the crucial competencies, coupled with experience, that’s what it’s all about. This includes positions such as air traffic controller, event planner, stock trader, software programmer and financial advisor.

craftsmen

Tech-savvy workers are highly sought after in the labor market. Because they are very hard to find, certain companies are not afraid to pay those white ravens lavishly. Nowhere is the war for talent raging as fiercely as around technical profiles. This includes electricians, plumbers, welders, lift and central heating technicians. An electrician can count on an average gross monthly wage of 3,333 euros. Gross monthly wages of 3,167 euros and 3,500 euros for central heating and lift technicians are more often the norm than the exception. Basic electrical engineering training is sufficient to get started with a certificate.

Potential risk

High wages are also associated with potentially dangerous jobs. This includes: guards, doormen, window cleaners and roofers. Ex-servicemen who are responsible for the higher segment of security can count on a gross monthly salary of 4,250 euros. But even without a military career there is a salary of 3,250 euros for a novice porter. You do not need a degree for these jobs. What are decisive are a perfect condition, reliability and the ability to act accurately in certain precarious situations. An experienced window cleaner who regularly also works at a large height, is good for a gross salary of 3,200 euros per month.

Dangerous environment

Certain sectors offer generous wages because the employees have to work in a risky environment, for example in the chemical industry and the waste processing sector. A waste worker can earn 4,450 euros per month. He or she must continuously observe the safety regulations and work accurately. Anyone who starts working in a nuclear company, such as a nuclear power station, for example, and who works with nuclear materials on a daily basis, earns 5,400 euros gross per month without a diploma. To perform such jobs, it is sufficient to follow specialized training or an internal or external training.

Heavy and dirty work

Of course there are also jobs that many people turn their noses at: the so-called dirty jobs. Working on an oil platform, for example, belongs to that category. Not only do you have to get your hands dirty, you are often away from home for a long time and you work heavy shifts with irregular hours. You will be paid approximately 6,000 euros gross per month for this.
