Despite constant calls from the authorities of the Ministry of Public Healthassistance to vaccination centers in the different establishments of Santo Domingo it has been slow.
The number of people has decreased after the president on February 16 Louis Abinader eliminate all the restrictions that existed in the country due to the coronavirus, including the mandatory presentation of the vaccination card to access public and private spaces.
After a tour of Free Journal This Friday, it was observed that the population’s attendance at the anticovid vaccine centers is almost nil. The panorama at the vaccination point located in the facilities of the Ministry of Public Health was completely empty, and it has remained that way for three weeks, according to one of the institution’s workers.
A similar situation occurs in the vaccination center located in the Santo Socorro Hospitalalso in the National District, where every day there are fewer people attending and the designated personnel are crossed their arms waiting for the small number that decides to get vaccinated.
When talking with one of the representatives of that vaccination point, he considers that the time will come soon when the authorities call to close the vaccination points.
“Possibly at any time President Luis Abinader will call to close the vaccination centersbecause look how we are, it’s almost eleven in the morning and no one has come”, Indian.
He suggested that the personnel of the different centers designated for these purposes be used for active days of inoculation.
Another center that was totally desolate is the one located in building five of the Plaza de la Salud, where the staff called on the population to go get vaccinated in order to face the situation generated by COVID-19.
