“Matěj is a primary school history teacher and loves action movies. Vašek loves all girls and especially Matěj’s sister. But tonight they get out of hand. With the help of a mixer and plutonium, he will create a wormhole that will create a shortcut in time and spin a wild adventure, “reads the annotation of Tomáš Dianiška’s new production Encyclopedia of Action Film.
Vašek and Matěj look to Rambo, John McClane or Terminator, ie the iconic fighters of action movies of the 1980s, when the boundaries between good and evil were still clearly divided, and ambivalent heroes were a matter of the distant future. Youtubeers Václav and Matěj know absolutely everything about their idols and regularly publish an Encyclopedia of Action Film on the Internet. They will fall through the wormhole until 1976.
Instead of American heroes, however, they come across characters from Major Zeman’s Cases and Czech dissent. “It simply came to our notice then. I’m just waiting for an interrogation here, I’ll be in Hrádečka in the morning, “one of the characters answers the question whether Václav Havel is.
History connected with the present
“I think making a game about history without affecting our present is a terrible boredom. The connection seems boldly ironic to me, “thinks actor, director and author of the play Tomáš Dianiška.
“From now on, you work for YouTube and the Communist Party,” the game said elsewhere. But when visitors from the future find that the country is in danger, they decide to take the fate of Czechoslovakia into their own hands.
“I play Vaška. He is a boy, but thanks to a transformation and a wormhole, he got into an action heroine, “says actress Pavla Gajdošíková. Visitors from the future will join forces with, for example, Ivan Martin Jirous. “The element of Magor’s wedding is important, after which everything went even further,” describes the actor and Jirous’ representative Jan Teplý.
On their adventurous journey through the past, Vašek, Matěj and his sister Vendula find out that a real hero does not naturally have muscles made of steel, but rather determination, faith and moral values.
