(CRHoy.com) Two new exhibitions will open their doors from next April 13. It is about the temporary and traveling exhibition “La Trinidad, Sarapiquí: Unearthing stories, memories and identities”, which will be open from April 13, 2021 to January 30, 2022, in the Carlos Meléndez Chaverri Room; and the temporary exhibition “Eva”, by the visual artist Álvaro Bracci, which will be open from April 13 to June 13, 2021.

Both will take place at the Juan Santamaría Historical Cultural Museum (MHCJS), located in the heart of the city of Alajuela and will be offered to the public as part of the commemoration of April 11, anniversary of the battle of Rivas on April 11, 1856, where the national hero that gives its name to this institution stood out: Juan Santamaría.

The first exhibition reviews the battle of La Trinidad, a combat that preceded the defeat of William Walker and his filibusters, on May 1, 1857, which commemorates the heroic deed of 1856-1857.

The second sample gathers pictorial works and installations, executed by its creator, Álvaro Bracci, in acrylic paint, drawing and digital printing. This exhibition is part of the actions of the MHCJS to promote art and heritage.

You can visit the Juan Santamaría Historical Cultural Museum from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Admission is free and open to all public.
