Loveable (Original title DarlingNorwegian for “sweetheart”) is a film drama and the feature film debut of Lilja Ingolfsdottir. The relationship drama is about a 40-year-old mother of four, played by Helga Guren, who has to come to terms with herself when her husband, played by Oddgeir Thune, tells her he wants a divorce. The film premiered at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in early July 2024 and won five awards, including the Special Jury Prize. The film was released in Norwegian cinemas in October 2024.
Maria and Sigmund have been a couple for seven years. At first everything seemed perfect. They have built a life together with a total of four children. Maria brought two children of her own from another relationship, two more were born after she married Sigmund. When Sigmund tells her he wants a divorce, Maria tries not to give up, but to find out who she really is and what she has to do to make your future happy.[2]

Directed by Lilja Ingolfsdottir. She previously made seven short films. Loveable is her debut feature film.
Helga Guren plays Maria and Oddgeir Thune plays her second husband Sigmund.[2] Most recently they appeared together in the television series Christmas at home in front of the camera. Other roles include Elisabeth Sand as Maria’s mother, Marte Magnusdotter Solem as her friend and Kyrre Haugen Sydness as her ex-husband.
Cameraman Øystein Mamen recently shot his documentary Penalty and has previously worked for documentaries such as Childhood and Self portrait and the black comedy Barn by Dag Johan Haugerud. For his work on the film The Rules for Everything by Kim Hiorthøy, Mamen was awarded the Amanda in 2017.
The film was presented at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival from July 2, 2024.[3] In August 2024 it was shown for the first time in Norway as part of the Den norske filmfestivalen in Haugesund.[4] At the end of September 2024 he opened the Reykjavik International Film Festival.[5] It was released in Norwegian cinemas on October 11, 2024.[6] It will also be shown at the Hamptons International Film Festival in October 2024.[7] It will be shown at the Leiden International Film Festival in mid-October 2024.[8] It will be screened at the Leeds International Film Festival in November 2024.[9] TrustNordisk is responsible for international distribution of the film.[10]
