For the first time since the launch of this show, this candidate David (here on the illustration) in “Love is in the meadow” did not receive any responses following his portrait presented last January.
TELEVISION – “Operation seduction”. Season 18 of Love is in the meadow broadcast on M6 from this Monday, August 21 has not yet started that it already has a lot of twists and turns. Still presented by Karine Le Marchand, the show experienced a few unforeseen events, between two abandonments even before filming began, but also worse: a candidate, David, has never received any letters and finds himself alone, without contenders for compete. Unheard of since the launch of the show in 2005.
A first
It was at the end of January 2023 that the show broadcast the 14 portraits of the future candidates of Love is in the meadow. In addition to the abandonment of Benjamin which reduces the number of participants, David, a breeder of dairy cows from Burgundy does not receive any mail in response to his announcement.
Faced with this unprecedented situation, the production with the help of Karine Le Marchand launched an appeal to remedy this situation on social networks. In this video published on April 25, the candidate reiterates his wish to participate in the show and returns to the presentation of his portrait, which could have been improved according to him:

“What hasn’t been shown enough (in his presentation) asks Karine Le Marchand. “The very happy side, when I party… And I also have a problem I speak very very quickly”, replied David. In this exchange, both also address his slight lisping problem.
But the farmer at the head of a herd of 450 animals with two of his brothers does not admit defeat. The show will air until the end of the year, so the production decided to leave their mailbox open. Even if David does not appear in the credits, he can always participate later, if one or more contenders deign to show up.
Karine Le Marchand’s rant
If this had already happened several times in previous seasons, the two last-minute withdrawals also annoyed Karine Le Marchand: “I am very upset because we have a limited number of places. We commit resources, time, we come to visit them to help them find love and somewhere, they have taken someone’s place for nothing.she said in comments reported by Europe 1 during the presentation conference of season 18.
Baptiste, a 30-year-old sheep breeder, justified his abandonment by the fact of having reunited with his former girlfriend. Karine Le Marchand had however warned the candidates: “Being on TV makes people very attractive to their exes. Be careful, you will be on TV, your exes will come back”she explained, still according to Europe 1.
The other contestant who dropped out before he started had simply fallen in love with another contestant’s contender.
