At first the relationship between them was tense.
The couple talked about how they went from stepbrother and sister to husband and wife.
Within show “Love Don’t Judge” Matilda and Samuli were interviewed and talked about how their love story began and developed.
The people of Finland first met when their parents got married. Matilda admitted that Samuli annoyed her at first.
“I didn’t really like him,” she recalled.
However, after spending the night together in what they called an “accident”, they were forced to completely rethink their feelings for each other.
Matilda admitted: “I thought it was somehow wrong because it was so surprising and I didn’t expect it.”
But despite trying to get back to who they were before, the couple couldn’t deny their connection and decided to give in to their feelings by finally confessing to their families.
The couple’s parents – mom Tinja and dad Juha – also told what their reaction was.
Tinja said: “I remember the first time Matilda told me how she felt when she called me. I wasn’t very surprised, but of course I was very happy.”
“It’s weird to think that Samuli’s dad is my stepfather and father-in-law, but I think it’s more fun,” Matilda added.
But that didn’t stop social media users from expressing their opinions after the girl shared her rather unconventional love story.
“We received a lot of negative comments,” she admitted. “We were told to get help and told that we were disgusting. If we were blood brothers and sisters, it would undoubtedly be taboo, but I don’t think our situation is that or should be. I think other people’s opinions in the past could have affected us.”
But Samuli, who agreed they were “soul mates,” added: “Today we are not bothered by those thoughts.”
Recall that a married woman secretly arranged a wedding with three more men. Instead of relatives, actors came to the celebration.
