Love and Flirting: An Italian’s Journey on First Dates in Madrid

All this because he had a whiter complexion than his compatriots and because he was much taller than them. However, Federico recognized himself as an authentic Italian in every sense: “I consider myself Italian for all intents and purposes. They have a good style both in communicating and dressing… and women notice that.” Next, the Basque presenter who asked her how he came to a program like First Dates and since when has he been in Spain.

After explaining that he has been in Valencia since 2019 and that he currently works as an engineer, Carlos Sobera asked his diner how his love life has been: “Have you flirted a lot?” Without going so far as to say how many dates he has had in the last four years, the Italian implied that he had not had anything bad in love. After the restaurant manager’s insistence, Federico explained that he had had more than 50 dates. However, behind the scenes he assured that there had been many more: “Yes, well, okay, there have been 100. I have gone out with 150 but I must have had things out with about 75.”

To make matters worse, the protagonist of this story explained to Carlos Sobera that he spent eight months with a girl. Something that led the Basque to make all kinds of calculations about his love life since he was in Spain: “If you take away eight months from four years, you have three years and four months left for 100 women. You have marked a historical milestone, a world record”. Meanwhile, Federico assured that he did not consider himself a flirtatious person: “I have gone through a time when I liked it and perhaps I still have it in my DNA.”

Federico does not find love on First Dates

Given that he had flirted with many women since his arrival in Spain, Carlos Sobera told his guest that tonight had to be the final one: “But tonight’s is the special one.” Meanwhile, Matías told her from the bar counter that she had to be “the last one on the list.” However, it was not. Although her date with the Chilean Marianne went quite well, as they discovered that they had several things in common, the protagonist of this story recognized in the final decision that he was not for her.

After being asked if he wanted to continue getting to know Marianne beyond First Dates, he declined because they lacked chemistry. In this way, they both left on their own as single as they had arrived before entering the restaurant of love.
