‘Love Actually’ cast reunites for 20th anniversary special

(CNN) — One of the best-loved modern Christmas classics turns 20 next year, and to mark the occasion, the cast members of the 2003 historic romantic comedy ‘Love Actually’ will reunite for a television special airing on ABC next week. announced the network on Tuesday.

Hugh Grant, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Bill Nighy and Thomas Brodie-Sangster star in the special, along with the film’s writer-director Richard Curtis.

In a promotional clip Shared by ABC’s “20/20” on Twitter, Diane Sawyer asks the cast to complete the line “Love is actually…” to which Grant replies “Dead!”.

According to ABC, the special will examine how the film successfully brought together a diverse ensemble to create a captivating and captivating film that examines various love affairs during a hectic month leading up to Christmas in London, England, which has become a beloved Christmas tradition around the world.

Coming a bit early, considering the film was released on November 6, 2003, the show will also examine how the covid-19 pandemic has changed the way people interact, love and connect, and the all-important need of kindness in families and communities.

The reunion isn’t the first time the cast of “Love Actually,” which also includes Keira Knightley, Liam Neeson and Colin Firth, has reunited.

“The Laughs and Secrets of ‘Love Actually’: 20 Years Later – A Diane Sawyer Special” airs Nov. 29 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
