Les refrains pop et soul de Lous and The Yakuza
Produced by El Guincho, the producer of Rosalia, Lous and The Yakuza released his second album in early November 2022, Iota, recorded between Mexico and Florida. The tour of his first album, Gore, had been postponed and then canceled due to the health crisis. But the young Brussels girl played all summer in Europe and the United States, solo or as the opening act for Alicia Keys, Coldplay or Gorillaz. Congolese by her father and Rwandan by her mother, Lous, a verlan of soul, followed her schooling between Kigali and Brussels, writing pop and soul choruses and rapped verses that slam and bring out all her anger and sadness.
The 26-year-old young woman describes in her songs her journey as the daughter of African doctors who lived through the consequences of the Rwandan genocide, then as a young adult, homeless in Brussels, before becoming a businesswoman, committed and warrior. DJ Laurent Garnier plays disco
The Loft Babies collective wants to bring DJs the quality of high definition sound in atypical places. In November 2022, these young people (average age 25), who are part of the audiophile movement, took over a kitsch Chinese palace in Aubervilliers and invited the too rare New York DJ Joe Claussell and his colleague Alex from Tokyo, to offer them a sound system inspired by that of the New York clubs of the 1970s, The Loft by David Mancuso and the Paradise Garage. After the success of their first event, they head this time to the southern suburbs of Paris and settle in the Nouveau Gare au Théâtre, a space dedicated to contemporary artistic creation. More than 1,500 square meters on two floors to recreate the atmosphere of New York clubs of the 1970s.
