Pure horror. A Louisville man has been arrested for chaining his ground mate inside a home in Louisville, Kentucky, for at least two days, according to local police. Moises May, 36, was charged with the counts of kidnapping, intimidation, endangering the lives of others, assault, threats and harassment.
Officers were called to a home in a residential part of town at around 7 p.m. last Wednesday after neighbors reported a woman screaming for help, authorities said. Officers arrived and saw a woman in distress from the second story window. After finding that the front door of the house had been barricaded, officers used a ladder to climb up to the second story window and discovered a scene worthy of the Middle Ages! The police have since broadcast the video of this extraordinary intervention.
Officers had to use a ladder lent by a neighbor to enter the house where they found a woman in an advanced state of panic. Police said the woman was indeed chained to the ground, with the device secured by screws, with the rest of the chain secured around her neck with a padlock.
Officers first ripped the chain out of the ground using a hatchet found in the room… and exfiltrated the woman from this house of horror. They then had to use professional pliers to overcome the padlock around the woman’s neck in distress. She was then immediately treated by paramedics who came to the rescue.
He cuts her hair with a machete before threatening her
According to the first elements of the investigation, the woman – who for security reasons remains anonymous – and her kidnapper would have had a verbal argument which turned into physical violence, the previous Monday. May would have grabbed the victim and kept her on the bathroom floor while he took a machete to cut most of her hair… In the process, the violent thirty-something also hit his partner, before she makes the decision to run away from home.
When the young woman returned to the house the next day to collect her belongings, May locked the doors with a padlock to which only he had the key, thus trapping her inside. The arrest report also indicates that the bully forced the woman to remove some of her clothes at the time. “I told you that the next time you leave and you don’t come back home, I will kill you,” Moises May told her then, before slapping her violently. He then took her upstairs and put her in chains, again threatening to kill her.
May then left the house and took her partner’s phone with him, so she couldn’t call for help. The chained woman, however, managed to get up and open a window to call for help and save her skin.
Police later confirmed the woman and Moises May had a child together. The violent companion appeared in court last Saturday and pleaded “not guilty”. His bond has been set at $100,000 and he is due in court again on August 28.
