While Pharrell Williams is experimenting with boho and Damier checkered patterns in the Louis Vuitton men’s line, women’s collection designer Nicolas Ghesquière (in honor of his 10th anniversary at the fashion house!) relies on signature retro silhouettes, tames golden jacquard (the trend of the season!) and transforms LV branded suitcases into avant-garde prints on dresses.
A competing trend for working daddy leather jackets are futuristic silver parkas and half-cut bombers: we wear them with polka dot dresses (the pattern of the season, certified by Adrian Appiolaza at the Moschino show), multi-colored leather minis and mother-of-pearl ruffle dresses. For extra comfort, we don’t get out of our furry grand mittens (an alternative to Prada housekeeping gloves!).
In the accessory line, we are replacing the narrow glasses of office sirens with translucent polka dot headbands, and instead of swiffers and slingbacks, we are trying on cheerful pointed ankle boots. Don’t forget to complement the look with fur jackets, pretzel caps and gradient fringe on the cuffs (which pretend to be mesh tubes).
Draperies are increasingly giving way to ruffles, and clutches from last season are giving way to cosmetic bags. So the main fashion constant of the Louis Vuitton show is the St. Petersburg model (and Nicolas Ghesquière’s fashion favorite!) Masha Skokova, who walked the catwalk of the fashion house for the 34th (!) time in a row (Dasha Zolotova, who made her debut last year, walked along with her , and modeling diva Sofia Steinberg).
