Meteorite dials are all the rage in the watch industry. In addition to its superb watchmaking craftsmanship, Swiss watchmaker Louis Moinet is known for its magnificent baroque-style designs and complex functions. It loves meteorites from outer space as a manufacturing material. The latest product of the watch factory, Cosmopolis, This type of meteorite watch is pushed to the extreme. It uses a tourbillon movement. The most unique thing is that the dial and surface are actually embedded with 12 meteorite fragment specimens of different origins, subverting the existing meteorite dial design that usually only uses one meteorite. After being released at the end of last month, the Cosmopolis was certified by Guinness World Records as “The Most Meteorite inserts in a watch” on the 21st.

Jean-Marie Schaller, CEO and Creative Director of the watch factory, was fascinated by meteorites and was the creative spark behind the Cosmopolis. These cosmic rocks traveled through outer space before hitting the Earth. Some of them are older than the Earth itself and are even old enough to witness the formation of the solar system. The twelve meteorite fragments used on the dial are rare specimens, some originating from the moon and Mars, and some from meteorite showers and asteroids around the world.
