French international opener Louis Carbonel is linked with Rugby Club Toulonnais until June 2024.
But for several weeks now, several rumors evoke a possible departure of the young player of 22 years before the end of his contract, perhaps even at the end of the current season.
Several clubs have also inquired about the player’s contractual situation, including Montpellier and more recently Clermont.
In an interview with the Midi Olympique on Monday, the president of Montpellier, Mohed Altrad indicated that he had not followed up on this file since Louis Carbonel is linked with the RCT.
On the other hand, on the Clermont side, the possibility of recruiting Louis Carbonel is of great interest to the Auvergne staff. An offer could be made to him in the coming days.
As we know, Louis Carbonel had a difficult start to the season as he was sidelined somewhat by manager Patrice Collazo due to some disagreements.
Asked via Rugbyrama on these rumors of departure, Louis Carbonel did not deny.
He only indicated that he will give everything for the RCT as long as he is Toulonnais. Extract:

This is a statement that will not necessarily reassure Toulon supporters who would like to see him continue his career in Toulon.
