Louis and Olive Connolly: A Legacy of Love and Community
The community of Terenure, Dublin, and New Ross, Co. Wexford, mourns the loss of Louis Connolly and his beloved wife Olive Connolly (née O’Donnell), who passed away peacefully in January 2025. Louis, a resident of Terenure Dublin 6W and formerly of mary Street, New Ross, died suddenly at his home on the 6th of january. Olive, who was cared for by the compassionate staff at St. Gladys Nursing Home in Harolds Cross, passed away just two days later on the 8th of January.
Their lives were deeply intertwined with family and community. Louis and Olive were predeceased by Louis’s sister Eileen Dwyer and his brothers Micheal and Paddy, as well as olive’s brother Owen.Their absence will be profoundly felt by Louis’s surviving siblings Seamus, Nancy, and Moria, their brother-in-law Tom, nieces, nephews, relatives, and countless friends and neighbors.
the couple’s reposing and funeral arrangements reflect their deep roots in both Dublin and New Ross. On Thursday evening, january 16th, friends and family in Dublin can visit Fanagans Funeral Home on lr Kimmage Road D6W N279 from 5pm too 7pm, with prayers at 6:45pm. On Friday, January 17th, reposing will continue at Cooney’s Funeral Home in New Ross, Co. Wexford, between 4pm and 7pm.
The final farewell will take place on Saturday morning, january 18th, with a removal to the Church of St. Mary and Micheal in New Ross for a Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by burial in st. Stephens Cemetery.
