Lyon manager Xavier Garbajosa (46) has been dismissed by the club and therefore leaves his post. He took over the reins of the Rhone club last season, after being ousted from the MHR. While he had a three-year contract initially, he ultimately only honored one year of it before being fired. Defeated in the play-off on Sunday June 4 against Bordeaux-Bègles at the Matmut Stadium in Gerland, Lyon had fallen at the end of the match.
If tensions had leaked during the season between the group and the boss of the locker room, the regular phase had finally come to an end without much upheaval with even a qualification torn off in the end. Third in the regular season in the Top 14 and quarter-finalist in the Challenge Cup (failing against Toulon), the LOU manager did not finally convince his management to believe this decision.
