When Pierre Solignac opened his campsite on the farm, on the heights of Labahou, in 1984, he had no other ambition than to offer holidaymakers a place to pitch their tent. It was then his daughter, Line, who took over and turned it into a natural camping area, which enabled him to expand with twenty-five pitches that can accommodate around eighty people. Because, compared to a traditional campsite, the difference is there: “ There is no swimming pool or restaurant. Vacationers can rediscover the spirit of old-fashioned camping.”
Unusual accommodation
After twenty-three years, Line has decided to hand over to her daughter-in-law and it is now Caroline, with the help of her husband Cédric, who welcomes holidaymakers who find well-equipped lodge tents on site. with water and electricity or who can settle down with their caravan, their personal tent or their camping-car.
Unusual accommodations are available for the more adventurous who will prefer tents with a net suspended in the air. A real haven of peace
Some pitches are on the edge of the forest but all are well shaded, they have electricity or not depending on the wishes of the occupants, toilets, an emptying area reserved for the motorhome but it is above all the quality of life of an authentic old-fashioned campsite that makes the charm of Lou Cantou Cévennes.
On Caroline’s advice, hiking enthusiasts can discover the paths that lead to the dolmens of the Grande Pallière, the old mine of Saint-Félix, Lacan, the Capellans, Peyremale or take the DFCI which begins at the end of the camping. For lovers of the city, the bus stop, located a hundred meters away, will take them to Nîmes or Alès. Nearby are the shops, the bakery, two restaurants where campers can walk to. From next year, Athena, Tiana et Bellthree donkeys, will be residents who will not fail to seduce the youngest who will take pleasure in brushing and caressing them.
The campsite enjoys a beautiful view of Anduze and the steam train and its location will offer everyone an opportunity to recharge their batteries and enjoy a well-deserved rest.
