Nova Spektrum/Tek.no: Lotus’ electric SUV Eletre is on its way to Norwegian roads these days, but the company’s next model is not far away either – and they brought it to the eCarExpo fair in Lillestrøm this weekend.
Taycan-konkurrent
Emeya is the name, and we are talking about a particularly sporty and vigorous “grand tourer” that is ready to take on the Porsche Taycan, Audi e-tron GT and Lucid Air, to name a few.
The most eye-catching exterior? The large and active rear spoiler that can be adjusted as needed to create ground pressure at high speed. The grill also has active elements that can be opened and closed as needed.
Emeya comes with the same engine specifications as Eletre, with up to 905 horsepower and 985 Nm of torque, which should provide supercar acceleration and 0-100 in 2.78 seconds.

The heaviest Taycan – Turbo S – has, by comparison, 952 horsepower and 1,110 newton meters of torque, but it probably costs somewhat more than what the heaviest Emeya will cost.
Even in the weakest version, we are talking about 603 horsepower and 0-100 in 4.15 seconds. You can also get it with carbon-ceramic brakes, separate fiberglass-reinforced sports armor, two-chamber adaptive air suspension and up to 22-inch rims.
Otherwise, the top speed is stated at 250-256 kilometers per hour, and Emeya, like its sister model Eletre and the aforementioned Taycan, uses an 800-volt system that should provide super-fast charging.

Around 60 mile range?
Maximum power is not stated, but we can probably assume that it will be identical to Eletre’s 350 kilowatts, and 10-80 percent is stated to take approximately 18 minutes. That will make the Emeya one of the fastest charging electric cars on the market, along with the aforementioned Taycan and Xpeng’s G9.
Lotus has not yet said anything about range, other than that it will be comparable to Eletre. It has a range of between 450 and 600 kilometers depending on the version, with the lowest range in the fittest model.
The steering wheel will naturally be located on the left side in the cars coming to Norway.

Emeya will probably be both lighter and more aerodynamic, so given the same battery size it will soon be able to go a few miles further. At the same time, we can mention that the new Taycan has up to 678 kilometers, and the Lucid Air has from 660 to 883 kilometers depending on the version.
We tested the newcomer, where the exhibition model admittedly had the steering wheel on the right. This was also equipped with Lotus’ so-called Executive seat package, which means that there are only two seats in the back, and where the seats have both heating, ventilation and massage.
One thing is certain: this configuration provides an extremely comfortable rear seat, although we would have liked to see the massage a little more powerful.

Admittedly, it is a bit tight under the roof in the back seat, and also little space to stow your legs under the sports seats in front of you, which would make legroom even better.
The glass roof is also of the same electrochromatic type as in the Polestar 4, which means that you can choose between transparent and frosted glass – and this can also be controlled from the screen in the back seat.
From just over a million?
The Emeya is scheduled to appear on Norwegian roads in the spring, and we got hints that the price will be roughly at the same level as the Eletre, possibly a little more.
The cheapest Eletre currently costs just under 1.1 million, while the top model Eletre R starts at approximately 1.75 million.
