Lottery millionaire Chico pulls the ripcord. After his jackpot luck at the end of 2022, the Dortmund native threw money around. Whether fast cars, luxury watches or clothes. At first, the goods couldn’t be expensive enough.

This racing car was his everything. Shortly after winning the lottery jackpot, Chico paid 730,000 euros for the 721-hp sports car. But less than two years later, the Ferrari “488 Pista” is for sale at the Fliegenschuh car dealership in Düsseldorf. The Dortmund native obviously needs cash.

“In the end, the car is just dead capital, it costs too much to maintain,” said “Chico” to the “Bild” newspaper. Just to put things into perspective: the insurance for the flashy car alone costs a whopping 5,580 euros per year.
Chico reveals: “Doesn’t like debt”
Money that Chico now prefers to invest in real estate. After his luxury penthouse on Phoenix Lake, the former crane driver has bought another apartment building in Dortmund. And according to Bild, he had to take out a loan for this for the first time.

“It may have made sense, but debt is not my thing. I couldn’t have that,” the Dortmund native told the newspaper. The situation obviously reminded him too much of his (criminal) past, in which Chico often had to live on credit (more on that here >>>). Chico has now paid off his old bills. But he doesn’t seem to like the idea of taking on new debt. He now wants to pay off the loan by selling the Ferrari.
The only question that remains is what the Ferrari sale will bring in at the end. “The market is currently difficult, but it is not unrealistic that the car will be sold for the same or even a slightly better price,” car dealer Frank Fiegenschuh told the newspaper optimistically.
